Halloween blues night 'Skalloween' with Bombskare, joined by the Blues Brothers tribute band Gimme Some Lovin.
Bombskare are back at The Liquid Room on Saturday 24 October for Skalloween, a Halloween night built around a full-throttle Blues Brothers tribute. They're joined by Gimme Some Lovin, a tribute band that works through soul, rhythm and blues alongside the classics. The two acts share more than just the bill: half of the Gimme Some Lovin line-up are also in Bombskare, so the night is as much a family affair as it is a tribute.
If you're not familiar with the source material, the Blues Brothers were the cinematic duo of Jake and Elwood, and their set was built on the soul and R&B that defined the era. That's the ground Gimme Some Lovin cover, pulling from the same soul and rhythm and blues that the original records were built on. Between the two bands, the night keeps to that territory, with the classics sitting alongside the soul and R&B that filled out the original sound.

It's a Halloween show, so the whole thing is framed around the date, and the Blues Brothers theme fits the occasion. With the two bands sharing members, the night is a bit of a crossover, with Bombskare and Gimme Some Lovin working the same room. The Liquid Room is at 9C Victoria Street in Edinburgh Old Town, and the music starts at 7pm. Tickets are £16.75, which is £15 plus a booking fee.
