Beginner-friendly air-dry clay sculpture session led by an expert artist at The Alchemist, with drinks available at the venue bar.
Paintvine are bringing a Sculpt and Sip session to The Alchemist George Street on Thursday 29 October, starting at 19:00. It's a two-hour workshop, so you're in and out in an evening rather than committing a whole day to it.
If you've never done one, the format is straightforward: an artist leads the room through hand-building techniques using air-dry clay. You'll start by making a pinch pot and then build that out into a sculpture you can take home with you. The air-dry clay hardens naturally over the following days, so there's no kiln involved — you just leave it to set on your shelf. All the materials are provided, and you don't need any prior experience to get stuck in.
Paintvine runs these across more than 20 cities, with artist-led Paint and Sip, Sculpt and Sip, and seasonal workshops. They've welcomed over 80,000 guests since 2019, and they describe their sessions as relaxed, welcoming and judgment-free — built for complete beginners. That makes them work as well for a date night or a hen party as they do for team-building and corporate events.

It's a separate booking from your drinks, which you buy at the venue bar throughout the night. The session is £35.37, it runs for about two hours from 19:00, and you'll find it at The Alchemist, 51 George Street, Edinburgh EH2 2HT.
