A gathering for event organisers and facilitators to connect through games and brainstorm new event ideas and collaborators.
Salisbury Centre Connections returns to The Salisbury Centre on Monday 14 December, from 18:00 to 21:00. It's a gathering for the people who run events and workshops at the centre — organisers, facilitators, practitioners and therapists — who've spoken about wanting a like-minded community and collaborators to create with. The night is split into two halves: the first is spent getting to know one another through connection games, then there's a refreshment break, and the second half is for dreaming up new event ideas and finding collaborators.
It's run by Richard Payne and Marta Brzosko, who met in the centre's Authentic Connection Group. Richard has worked in the NHS for over 30 years and has been a Clinical Psychologist since 2001; Marta has been facilitating connection events and courses in Edinburgh and online since 2020, while working as an Office Administrator at The Salisbury Centre. The two of them bring that mix of clinical and administrative experience to the room, and the whole thing grew out of the same yearning for community that brings the attendees together.
The centre itself is an Edinburgh community hub open to anyone looking to develop their spiritual, psychological and creative life, with a programme of courses, workshops, lectures, meditations and one-to-one therapeutic work. Connections is part of a series of sessions held throughout the year — this one follows dates on Saturday 25 April, Monday 1 June and Monday 9 November — so if you've missed the earlier ones, this is your next chance to get involved.

It's donation-based, with three suggested tiers: £20 for those who are subsidised or on a low income, £30 as a sustainable rate, and £40 for those who want to pay it forward. The session runs from 18:00 to 21:00 at The Salisbury Centre, 2 Salisbury Road, EH16 5AB, held in the Art Room on the ground floor or the Studio upstairs.
