Raghu Dixit and The Raghu Dixit Trio play an intimate set of reimagined favourites, new compositions and unreleased material.
Raghu Dixit plays The Voodoo Rooms on Tuesday 2 February 2027, starting at 7:30pm. He'll be performing with The Raghu Dixit Trio, a smaller group that brings together three long-time collaborators for a more intimate presentation of his music. On stage with him are Sanjay Kumar on guitars and bouzouki, and Akshay Ganesh on violin, with Dixit himself on vocals and acoustic guitar.
If you've come across him before, you'll likely know The Raghu Dixit Project, the larger band he's toured with internationally. This is a different approach: he's turning the volume down and the focus inwards, stripping the songs back to voice, guitars, bouzouki and violin. He describes it as a way of exploring the songs more closely, with the stories and emotion behind them taking centre stage. The set draws on nearly three decades of songwriting, moving between reimagined favourites from his earlier albums, new compositions, and unreleased material.
Dixit has spent more than two decades taking his music from Mysuru to audiences around the world, playing in over 50 countries. His stages have included Glastonbury, WOMAD, the Southbank Centre and the BBC's Later... with Jools Holland, who called his sound 'marvellous'. The Guardian described him as 'one of India's most inventive and charismatic artists'.
