One-day cookery or international cuisine cookery class at the Edinburgh Food & Drink Academy on Queen Street.
Edinburgh Food & Drink Academy is running a full autumn programme from 18 October to 18 November, with a one-day cookery class on Friday 30 October. The academy operates out of a historic Queen Street townhouse in the heart of the city's food scene and relaunched earlier this year. It's set up for both professional training and home cooks, with bright, fully equipped kitchens, small class sizes and expert tutors working on technical skill, confidence and the mindset of a modern chef. They cater to special diets and hire out the space for private events, combining strategy sessions, wine or whisky tastings, training days and chef demonstrations.
The autumn line-up covers a few different speeds. There's the Chef's Table with Harajuku Kitchen, run by Executive Chef Kaori Simpson and her team, and Cooking with Game masterclasses for those wanting to work with seasonal game. If you're looking for something longer, The Confident Cook is a five-week course. For families, there's an Adult and Child Halloween Baking Workshop and a Mini Chef's Holiday Camp for the kids. The programme wraps up on 18 November with an Open Evening for the Professional Diploma.
The academy has a reputation for high-level training in a supportive environment, and its alumni include Pippa Perriam, a food and lifestyle social media influencer, and Sam Yorke, head chef and owner of the Michelin-starred restaurant Heron.
