Creative printmaking workshop led by Aberdeen printmaker Ade Adesina at the City Art Centre, companion to his exhibition 'Ade Adesina: Bard'.
Ade Adesina is running a printmaking workshop at the City Art Centre on Saturday 16 January, and it's a companion to his major solo exhibition Ade Adesina: Bard, which runs there from 7 November 2026 to 11 April 2027. Adesina is an Aberdeen-based printmaker described as one of Scotland's most internationally recognised contemporary artists, so this is a chance to get a session with him while his work is on the walls.
The workshop is part of a wider programme around Bard. If you're planning to make a day of it, there's a lecture called The Questions and a gallery tour led by Adesina himself on 30 January, so you can see the exhibition and then hear him talk through it. The exhibition stays open until mid-April, which gives you plenty of time to go back and look at the work after you've had a go at the printmaking yourself.
The City Art Centre is right in the heart of Edinburgh, just across the road from Waverley station, so it's easy to get to whether you're coming from the city centre or arriving by train. It's dedicated to Scottish visual and applied arts, drawing on a nationally recognised collection of Scottish art and a programme of changing exhibitions of historic and modern Scottish painting, photography, contemporary art and craft. The ground floor has a gift shop and a Mimi's Bakehouse café, so there's a spot for a coffee before or after.
