Monthly freestyle rap comedy show in which MC Hammersmith improvises comedy raps from audience suggestions, with short sets from comedy guest stars.
MC Hammersmith is back at Monkey Barrel Comedy on Wednesday 28 October, his freestyle rap show returning to the Old Town. It's a monthly fixture for him here, and this date is part of a run that keeps him in the city well into the new year: Monday 14 December, 6 December, 10 January and 16 February.
The whole thing is built on improvised comedy raps drawn entirely from the audience's suggestions, so what he ends up rapping depends on what the room throws at him. He's joined on stage by his friends, with surprise guest stars from the comedy circuit dropping in for short sets throughout the night. It's a freestyle show, so no two nights are the same.
As for the man himself, MC Hammersmith is a multi-award winning freestyle rap comedian who bills himself as the world's leading gangsta rapper to emerge from the middle-class west London 'ghetto', and as West London's leading freestyle rapper with over half a billion views. He's a three-time Scottish Comedy Award winner and a Best Comedy Show winner at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

It opened in 2017 and was named Scotland's Best Comedy Venue by Chortle in 2023, with The Telegraph calling it 'The Beating Heart of the Fringe'. The show starts at 7.30pm on the 28th, and tickets are £12, or £10 for concessions.
