Adult education workshop run by RBGE staff to make a Christmas wreath from seasonal foliage gathered in the Garden.
Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is running a Christmas wreath workshop on Saturday 5 December, with two sessions to choose from: 9:30–12:00 in the morning and 13:00–15:30 in the afternoon. It's an adult education class led by the Garden's own staff, so you're learning from the people who actually work there rather than an outside guest.
The whole point is to make your own wreath for your front door using seasonal foliage gathered right from the Garden. You'll be working with conifers, holly, cones and berries, all built onto a base of moss. It's a hands-on session, and you leave with something you've put together yourself from the Garden's own stock. The Garden describes it as suitable for all comers, so it doesn't matter if you've never touched a pair of secateurs in your life.

It's open to anyone aged 16 and over, and spaces are limited to twelve people per session, which keeps it small and manageable. The cost is £75, or £67.50 for members, with taxes included. The workshop is held at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, 20A Inverleith Row, in the Stockbridge and Canonmills area (EH3 5LR). The course is currently full, but there's a waiting list if you'd like to put your name down.
