Lunchtime guided meditation class led by Buddhist nun Kelsang Varahi, based on 'The New Eight Steps to Happiness'.
Kadampa Meditation Centre Edinburgh is running a lunchtime class, Connect with your Inner Peace, on Wednesday 28 October. It starts at 12:15 and runs for 45 minutes, so it's one of those things you can fit into a lunch break and still be back at your desk by the afternoon. The session is led by Buddhist nun Kelsang Varahi.
It opens with a short teaching, followed by two guided meditations. Both are built around The New Eight Steps to Happiness by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, and the whole thing is aimed at helping you develop a happy and positive mind. If you've never meditated before, that's fine — the guided part means you're just following along rather than having to figure it out on your own.
The centre itself is a Buddhist charity run by volunteers, based at 172 Leith Walk, EH6 5EA, about halfway down the walk. They run classes in Falkirk, Dundee and Melrose too, and hold outdoor meditations on Leith Links, so this is one of a few things they do around the city. Everyone is welcome, and you can either book a place in advance or just drop in on the day.

It costs £6, and it's free for members. If you want a speciality coffee or tea with it, that's £8, and a matcha latte is an extra £1 on top. The class is 45 minutes long, starting at 12:15 on Wednesday 28 October at the Kadampa Meditation Centre Edinburgh, 172 Leith Walk.
