Intermediate line dance class led by instructor Lynsey, teaching new American line dances step by step.
Dance For All is hosting an intermediate line dance class in Edinburgh on Friday 16 October, starting at 19:30. It's an intermediate session, so it's aimed at those who've already got a bit of line dancing under their belt rather than absolute beginners.
The class pulls its material straight from the honky tonks and dance halls of America, with the latest line dances being the focus. Each session works through one or two new dances, broken down step by step, so you're not just thrown in at the deep end. It's the kind of thing where you'll walk away with a couple of new routines you can actually do, rather than just a vague idea of the steps.
Leading the class is Lynsey, the head cowgirl and lead instructor, who's recently returned to the UK after living and dancing across the US. That's where the American connection comes from — she's bringing back dances she's picked up first-hand over there, so the material is as authentic as it gets. If you're wondering about the dress code, you can turn up in boots or trainers, so there's no need to go full costume if you don't want to.
