The only UK touring show dedicated to the soul and Motown legend Barry White, with vocalist William Hicks and live backing by Soul Unlimited.
Let The Music Play: A Celebration of Barry White comes to the Assembly Rooms on Sunday 25 April 2027, at 7.30pm. It's a revue dedicated to the soul and Motown legend Barry White, and it's the only UK touring show of its kind, coming over from the USA.
At the front is vocalist William Hicks, who's known as 'the big man with the big voice'. He works in a silky-smooth bass-baritone and a stage presence that recreate the style of the three-time Grammy Award winner. Backing him live is Soul Unlimited, with the Motown Supreme Dreamgirls on support. The set works through White's biggest hits, including 'Let the Music Play', 'You're the First, the Last, My Everything', 'Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe', 'Just the Way You Are' and 'What Am I Gonna Do With You'.
Hicks has sold over 100 million records, with 20 gold and 10 platinum singles, and Eddie Holland — the Motown songwriter of the Holland-Dozier-Holland team — called his delivery 'phenomenal'.
