Multi-award-winning live show with an all-star cast of musicians and singers playing more than 40 hits from 1960s icons.
The Legends of the 60s Show comes to the Assembly Rooms on Sunday 22 November, with the curtain going up at 19:30. It's a tribute night that pulls from a huge range of 1960s icons, with an all-star cast of musicians and singers working through more than 40 hits from across the decade. The set covers Elvis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Monkees, Roy Orbison, Tom Jones, Cliff Richard, The Beach Boys and the Drifters, so it's a broad sweep of the era rather than focusing on one particular sound.
On the bill for this date are Stephen, Raymond and Chris. The show itself is a multi-award-winning production that follows a sell-out debut tour, which the producers say drew nightly standing ovations and rave reviews. It's billed as the No.1 live act to see, and the setlist is built around the feelgood spirit of the sixties.
The venue is one of Edinburgh city centre's largest multi-purpose spaces, and it brings its own character to the night. Inside you'll find enormous crystal chandeliers, gleaming gold leaf and giant gilt mirrors, all sitting alongside the latest technology following a major redevelopment completed in 2012. Its Ballroom, Music Hall, Drawing Rooms and Crush Hall have hosted monarchy and celebrity royalty for more than two centuries, so it's a room with a fair bit of history behind it.
