Weekly wellbeing class that uses therapeutic laughter as a workout for the whole self to reduce stress and pain.
Laughter for Health and Happiness runs every Thursday morning at Duncan Place Community Hub & Enterprise in Leith, with the next session on Thursday 5 November from 11:00 to 12:00. It's a weekly wellbeing class that uses therapeutic laughter as a workout for the whole self, with physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits.
Regular participants describe a range of effects: lifted mood, reduced pain and inflammation, a boosted immune system, improved breathing and lower blood pressure, alongside reduced stress and greater resilience, confidence and social connection. It's less about telling jokes and more about the physical act of laughing, and the class is best suited to people who can attend regularly rather than just dropping in once. New members are welcome on the first Thursday of each month, so if you're starting from scratch, that's the best time to join in.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Edinburgh and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
