Stand-up show by Bafta winner Karen Dunbar, 'The Queen of Scottish Comedy', at Portobello Town Hall.
Karen Dunbar is playing Portobello Town Hall on Friday 13 November, with her show Aw Roon The Hooses! presented by Breakneck Comedy. It's a solo night, so she's the only act on the bill.
If you've followed her career, you'll know she's one of Scotland's best-known comedy actors and DJs. She first made her name on the sketch show Chewin' the Fat before starring in her own series, The Karen Dunbar Show, which earned four Golden Rose European TV Awards nominations. From there, her stage work has run from Glasgow panto to West End classics, with Burns and Shakespeare in the mix, and she's DJed in New York and Ibiza. In 2014, she opened the Commonwealth Games in front of one billion viewers.
She calls herself 'The Queen of Scottish Comedy', a title she backs with a mix of character comedy, stand-up, music and madness. Last year she toured Scotland playing 80 dates and filmed it for the BBC, so this is a return to the stage after that run. The show is for ages 14 and over.
