One-day post-punk festival of UK talent, with The Armoury Show, The Chameleons, The Wedding Present and headliners Peter Hook & The Light.
Interzone returns to the Edinburgh Corn Exchange on Saturday 29 May 2027, a one-day festival presented by JS Promotions. It's an annual curated bill that started in Scarborough before moving to the Corn Exchange, and the focus is on UK post-punk, alternative and indie rock. This year's line-up brings together four acts built around restless guitars, widescreen atmosphere and sharp-edged songwriting.
The Armoury Show open the day. Fronted by Richard Jobson of The Skids, they play art-minded post-punk. After them come Chameleons, known for the expansive guitar work and emotional intensity that made them one of the most influential acts of their era. The Wedding Present follow with fast-moving jangle-pop and David Gedge's distinct lyrical voice. Closing the night are Peter Hook & The Light, led by the Joy Division and New Order co-founder, who dedicate their set to the classic back catalogues of both bands.
Between them, the bill runs through a fair bit of ground: the art-punk of The Armoury Show, the atmospheric guitar work of Chameleons, the jangle-pop of The Wedding Present, and the Joy Division and New Order songs that Hook has carried through his career. It's a full day of music rather than a single headline show, so you'll be there for the opening act as well as the headliners.
