American blues-rock singer-songwriter Hannah Wicklund brings her The Red Gorilla Tour to The Voodoo Rooms.
Hannah Wicklund plays The Voodoo Rooms on Monday 19 October, part of her The Red Gorilla Tour. She's an American blues-rock guitarist, pianist and singer-songwriter originally from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and this is her only Edinburgh date on the run.
She's been at this for a while. Her self-titled debut came out in 2018 on her own independent label, Strawberry Moon Records, and since then she's played major US festivals like Firefly and Shaky Knees, and toured as direct support for Marcus King. Her second album, The Prize, arrived in 2024, produced by Sam Kiszka with Danny Wagner on drums — both members of the Grammy-winning rock band Greta Van Fleet. Critics have drawn comparisons between her and Stevie Nicks and Alanis Morissette, so you've got a good sense of where she sits: blues-rock with a strong vocal presence and a fair bit of grit.

On stage she handles the guitar, the piano and the singing, so the set will pull from both. The Edinburgh date is part of The Red Gorilla Tour, which is taking her latest material across the UK. If you're familiar with the record, you'll hear those songs live; if not, it's a decent place to start. The Voodoo Rooms is at 19a West Register Street in the New Town, and doors open at 7.30pm.
