Spooky magic workshop for children aged 7 to 11 to learn and perform their own magic, held at Lauriston Castle and Gardens.
The Halloween Magic School runs at Lauriston Castle and Gardens on Sunday 25 October, starting at 10:30. It's a spooky magic workshop held as part of the Edinburgh International Magic Festival, and it's aimed at children aged 7 to 11. No previous magic experience is needed to take part: the whole point is for them to learn, create and perform their own magic, make some new wizard friends and leave with a few tricks up their sleeve.
It's a hands-on session rather than a show to watch, so the kids are the ones doing the work. They'll be taught how to put together their own tricks, and the focus is on them actually performing what they've learned. It's a good one for a Sunday morning if you've got a young one who's into the whole magic thing and wants to try it for themselves.

There are a few practical things to keep in mind. The session is held indoors, and kids are encouraged to turn up in costume and bring their own magic wands. An adult has to attend with each child, and all adults need a ticket too. Tickets are £7.00, with a non-refundable £2 transaction fee on all telephone and online bookings. The session is now sold out, so if you've already got your tickets sorted, you're set for Sunday morning at Lauriston Castle and Gardens, 2a Cramond Rd S, Edinburgh EH4 6AD.
