Beginner-friendly evening workshop with Jen Skedd to make a Christmas wreath from leftover cottons and fabric scraps, with tea, coffee and mince pies.
Artisan Stitch is hosting a Festive Rag Wreath Workshop on Friday 4 December, from 6:15pm to 8:30pm. It's a beginner-friendly evening, so you don't need any sewing experience to take part. The whole point is to turn waste into something beautiful: you'll build your wreath from leftover cottons, old shirts, quilting scraps and other small fabric pieces, and you'll leave with a colourful rag wreath ready for Christmas.
The workshop is run by Jen Skedd, who also runs the studio. She's a degree-trained textile designer and a lifelong sewist, with an HND in Stitched Textiles and Fashion from Edinburgh College and a Textile Design BA (Hons) from Heriot-Watt University in Galashiels, the former Scottish College of Textiles. In her final year, she sold knitwear designs to the Italian fashion label Valentino, and she exhibits widely with the Embroiderers Guild and Group Twelve Textile Artists.
