Japanese alternative metal band Esprit D'Air play La Belle Angèle with new tracks from 'Aeons' and fan favourites, marking the tenth anniversary of 'Constellations'.
Esprit D'Air play La Belle Angèle on Tuesday 16 February, their first return to Edinburgh in four years. The Japanese alternative metal band are touring the UK and Europe, playing venues with capacities between 700 and 1,500, and this date is part of their Aeons album launch tour.
The night is built around a double set. One half is brand-new material from Aeons, which hit number one on the Official Rock & Metal Albums Chart. The other half draws from fan favourites across Constellations, Oceans and Seasons, plus deep cuts they've never played live before. It also marks the tenth anniversary of their debut album, Constellations.
Behind the music is a line-up with a fair bit of history. Guitarist and vocalist Kai leads the band and is also a current member of The Sisters Of Mercy. He's joined by Vincent Velazco on drums, formerly of Ghost and Pendragon; Takeshi on bass, who comes from MergingMoon; and Yusuke on guitar. They're known for fusing melodic vocals with heavy riffs, and they operate entirely independently, handling everything from production to release. They describe themselves as an award-winning alternative metal band.
