A curated showcase of independent makers, collectors, designers and creatives offering handmade, hand-designed and authentic vintage goods.
Edinburgh's Craft & Flea Market takes over the Assembly Rooms on Sunday 18 October, from 10am to 4pm. It's a one-day gathering of independent makers, collectors, designers and creatives, all under one roof in the New Town.
What you'll find inside is a mix of handmade, hand-designed and authentic vintage goods. Ceramics, illustration, candles and jewellery sit alongside curated vintage collections, so it's as much about the new as it is about the old. The organisers screen every stall application to pick only the finest artisan traders, and new traders are welcome to apply, so the line-up changes from one market to the next.
It's part of the Indie Markets collection, and they run it as a curated showcase rather than a standard craft fair. That's the main difference here: instead of a random assortment of stalls, it's a selected group of makers and collectors brought together in one space. If you're into things that are actually made by hand rather than mass-produced, that's the draw.
