Alt.blues night with slide guitarist Dave Arcari and support from Estonian slide guitarist Andres Roots at The Voodoo Rooms.
Dave Arcari plays The Voodoo Rooms on Tuesday 1 December, with Estonian slide guitarist Andres Roots opening. It's a double bill of slide guitar, so the whole night stays in that territory.
Arcari is Scotland's alternative blues troubadour, a slide guitarist and songwriter who pulls from trash country, punk, rockabilly and pre-war Delta blues. He's released seven solo albums on labels like Buzz in the UK, Dixiefrog in France and Blue North in Finland, and his eighth, Still Friends, came out in November 2025 after a successful Kickstarter. He was a 2023 UK Blues Federation UK Blues Awards finalist, and his music has appeared on numerous BBC programmes and the US series The Deadliest Catch.
In 2019, National Reso-Phonic Guitars launched the Dave Arcari signature model, making him the first and only musician outside the USA to be honoured by the maker. He's toured the States since 2013, played SxSW in Austin and appeared at Glastonbury, Red Rooster, BluesAlive, Moulin Blues and Peer Festival, and has shared stages with Steve Earle, Alabama 3, Seasick Steve, Toby Keith and Jon Spencer. Support comes from Andres Roots, whose music has received airplay on five continents.
