Dan Tiernan returns to the stage with his stand-up show 'Quartz And All', billed as inventive, visceral comedy.
Dan Tiernan returns to the stage at Monkey Barrel Comedy on Thursday 11 February, with a new show called Quartz And All. He's coming back armed with a specific set of magic rocks: an amethyst, a bucketful of sage, and a rose quartz the size of his head. It's a strange image to start with, and it sets the tone for where the night goes from there.
Tiernan is a two-time Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, and the Guardian has described him as one of comedy's most distinctive new voices. He's not exactly a newcomer to the city, either — he arrives with a hat trick of sold-out Edinburgh Festival runs behind him, so he knows his way around a room here. Beyond the festival, he's a regular on the telly, with appearances on Live at the Apollo, 8 Out of Ten Cats Does Countdown, The Last Leg and QI.
As for the show itself, it's billed as inventive, visceral comedy and a total blast. If you've seen him before, you'll know he tends to lean into the more eccentric side of things, and the crystals and sage suggest this one will be no different. It's a solo show, so it's just him up there with the rocks and the material.
