Cosmic Dreamcatchers Workshop

Nika Vibes is running a cosmic dreamcatcher workshop at BRSHES Edinburgh, 197 Gilmore Place, on Friday 5 March, from 7:00 to 9:15 pm. It's billed as an evening of history, astrology and creativity, and the whole session is built around making your own dreamcatcher from scratch.

The night starts with the history behind them, so you'll get a sense of what they're meant to be before you start building. From there, it moves into astrology: you'll find your zodiac star sign and the energies associated with it, and that's what guides the piece you make. You'll build the frame and weave the central web, then pick out the beads, feathers, yarns and symbolic colours that match your sign's energy or whatever personal intentions you're bringing to the table. The finished thing is meant to be hung at home for protection, positivity and style.

There's no prior experience needed, so you don't have to be a crafter to get stuck in. All the materials are provided on the night: metal hoops, yarns, beads, feathers, glue and the tools to put it all together. The studio is kept low-key with soft music running in the background while everyone works on their own piece.

General admission is £18.00, plus a £0.45 ticket service fee. Doors open at 6:50 pm, and the session runs from 7:00 to 9:15 pm at BRSHES Edinburgh, 197 Gilmore Place, EH3 9PW.
