Bristol singer-songwriter Clara Mann plays the Pianodrome Bruntsfield Community Hub with her new album 'Wishbone'.
Clara Mann plays the Pianodrome Bruntsfield Community Hub on Tuesday 24 November, bringing her new album to Edinburgh as part of a run of 2026 dates that also takes in London's The Moth Club and Dublin's Sugar Club. It's a Bristol-based singer-songwriter's night, with Mann as the sole bill.
She's touring Wishbone, her second record. It follows Rift, the 2025 debut that put her on the map as one of the more compelling new voices in alternative folk. Wishbone is a step forward from there, contrasting quiet introspection with hopeful, expansive soundscapes. If you're coming in fresh, Rift is the one that established her; Wishbone is the one she's out playing now.
Mann grew up surrounded by classical music, and it's a thread that runs through everything she does. She describes her work as intimate, luminous folk grounded in acoustic arrangements and classical sensibilities, and you can hear that in the way she builds a song. She pairs delicate vocal melodies with rich string instrumentation, including viola and double bass, so the sound leans more towards the chamber end of folk than the singer-songwriter tradition. It's music that lets the arrangements breathe, with the strings doing a fair bit of the heavy lifting alongside her voice.
