Social circular cycle around Edinburgh on cycle paths and minor roads, with a short climb up Calton Hill, hosted by Gerry T. of the Edinburgh Cycling Club.
City Circular is back on Sunday 22 November, starting from Middle Meadow Walk in the Meadows. It's a social circular cycle hosted by Gerry T. of the Edinburgh Cycling Club, and the route takes in a loop around the city, sticking predominantly to cycle paths and minor roads. It's designed as a social ride, so it's as much about the company as the cycling.
As for the route, you'll be looping through Edinburgh, mostly on cycle paths and quieter roads, which keeps you well away from the heaviest traffic. There is one climb to look out for: a short, easy pull up Calton Hill. It's not a mountain, but it's enough to get your heart rate up and give you a proper view of the city before you head back down.
Because it's a circular, you start and finish in the same place, so you don't have to worry about getting home from a different part of town. It's a good way to see a fair bit of the city from the saddle without having to navigate the busiest main roads.

The ride runs from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, so you're out for the morning and back in time for lunch. It's hosted by Gerry T. of the Edinburgh Cycling Club, and it's a social one, so it's a decent shout if you're looking to get out on two wheels with other people. You'll set off from Middle Meadow Walk, loop around the city, and end up right back where you started.
