Mystery cycling tour of around 25 miles on cycling paths and quiet roads through several Edinburgh parks, with a stop at a park cafe.
How many parks can you sea? kicks off from Middle Meadow Walk on Saturday 31 October at 10:00. It's a mystery tour run by the Edinburgh Cycling Club, and as the name suggests, the whole thing is built around seeing as many parks as you can on a single ride. You'll be out for around 25 miles, sticking to cycling paths and quiet roads, which makes it suitable for most bikes. There's a stop at a park cafe for coffee and outside seating along the way, and you'll finish back where you started at the Meadows.
The ride is put on by the Edinburgh Cycling Club, an ELREC group open to anyone interested in learning to cycle, joining social rides, the bike buddy scheme, or just sharing the joy of cycling. They're not just about the outings, either: the club runs a four-week cycle maintenance course that covers puncture repair, brake work, and derailleur work. They also put together social rides like the 'Twa Burns' night ride, which follows the Burdiehouse Burn towards the Royal Infirmary, Danderhall, Craigmillar Castle, and Inch Park.

Since it's a mystery tour, you won't know the full route until you're on it, but the 25-mile distance is a fair chunk of cycling for a Saturday morning. The club advises bringing spare inner tubes, a pump, and tools, as well as your own food and drink if you fancy something more than the cafe stop. It starts at 10:00 from Middle Meadow Walk, and you'll end back at the Meadows.
