Christmas Day five-course lunch at Browns Brasserie & Bar in Edinburgh, with festive cocktails and a deposit required.
Browns Brasserie & Bar is doing Christmas Day lunch on 25 December, one of the few places in Edinburgh that actually opens its doors on the day. Most of the city shuts down for the holiday — the shops, the attractions, and even the Christmas market are all closed, with things only starting to wake up again on Boxing Day. If you're not fancying the home-cooking route this year, it's one of the few spots where you can just turn up and be looked after.
They're running a five-course seasonal menu, which they pair with festive cocktails, all served within the restaurant's usual brasserie atmosphere. It's a proper sit-down affair, so you'll be there for a good while rather than just popping in for a quick bite. The menu is built around the season, so expect the usual Christmas flavours and a few festive drinks to go with them.

One thing to keep in mind is that tables at these few open venues tend to fill up by mid-October, and most of them ask for a deposit to hold your spot. If you're planning on eating out on the day, it's worth getting your name in early rather than leaving it until the last minute. The lunch is £115 for five courses.
