Stand-up show by British comedian Celia Imrie, The Elegant Hustler, in which she draws on travel and the absurdities of modern life.
Celia Imrie brings her solo show, The Elegant Hustler: Adventures from a Life on the Move, to Edinburgh on Thursday 29 October. It's a stand-up set, and she's the only one on the bill.
If you're not familiar with her, Imrie is a British comedian known for observational humour and a sharp wit. She builds her material around travel and the absurdities of modern life, and The Elegant Hustler has made her a regular on the UK comedy circuit, playing mid-size venues across Britain. It's a monologue show, so the whole evening is her on stage telling stories and working through her observations.
As a regular on the circuit, she's spent plenty of time in rooms like this, and the show is built on that same observational style she's known for. The title gives you a fair idea of the territory she covers — travel and the various ways life keeps moving under your feet — and the set draws on those experiences. It's a solo turn, so the night is just her and the audience, with no support act to warm things up.

The show starts at 19:00, and tickets are £20, with student tickets at £18. It's a single night in Edinburgh, so if you want to catch it, you'll need to make that date work.
