A candlelit tribute in which a string quartet plays Fleetwood Mac's most beloved songs live at St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral.
Candlelight: Tribute to Fleetwood Mac comes to St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral on Friday 20 November, part of the Candlelight series produced by Fever. The whole thing is a tribute, not an official production, so it's not associated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the band or their representatives.
The format is the same one Fever uses across its Candlelight nights: a string quartet playing live in a room lit only by candles. They take the songs you know from Fleetwood Mac and strip them back to that — just the strings and the candlelight. It's the same setup they've used for tributes to Hans Zimmer, ABBA, Queen, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Michael Jackson, Oasis and Olivia Dean, so you've got a good idea of what to expect before you walk through the door.
The venue is St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral on Palmerston Place in the West End. It's a Victorian Gothic building designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, and you'll recognise it by the three spires that stand out across the Edinburgh skyline. It's a big, high-ceilinged space, and seeing it lit by candles rather than the usual lights changes the feel of the place.
