Touring stage adaptation of the 2010 film 'Burlesque', with songs by Christina Aguilera, SIA and Dianne Warren, directed and choreographed by Nick Winston.
Burlesque The Musical is coming to the Edinburgh Playhouse from 16 to 27 February 2027, bringing the story of the 2010 film to the stage. It's a stage adaptation of the movie, set in a struggling burlesque lounge threatened by big-shot developers, with the newcomer Ali at the centre of the rivalries, relationships and revelry. The West End premiere was a smash hit of summer 2025, selling out night after night, and the show now returns on tour with lavish production values and powerhouse vocals.
It brings back the film's director and choreographer, Nick Winston, who also takes on direction and choreography for the stage version. The songs are from the movie, written by Christina Aguilera — who also executive produces — alongside SIA and Dianne Warren. Tom Curran handles the orchestrations and arrangements, while Toby Higgins is musical supervisor. The creative team is rounded out by Nate Bertone on set design, Marco Marco on costumes with additional design by Roberto Surace, Rory Beaton on lighting, Nina Dunn on video, and Ben Harrison on sound.
On stage, Faye Brookes plays Tess Richarde and Gracie O'Brien takes on Ali Rose. Ryan Carter plays Sean and Ms Loretta, Davide Fienauri is Vince, Tyler Davis is Jackson, and Vanessa Ela Young is Nikki. It's a large cast for a run that spans nearly two weeks, so there are plenty of dates to choose from if you're fitting it around work or school.
