Live broadcast call with Edinburgh practitioners about the materials of the future, part of boom saloon's 'Calling boom saloon' series.
boom saloon and Architecture & Design Scotland are teaming up for What Materials Will Save The Builds Of The Future?, which runs on Friday 27 November at the Edinburgh Futures Institute. It's part of Calling boom saloon, a series they've been running together that asks how the place where you work shapes the change you make.
The format is a bit different from your usual talk. Each evening starts without an introduction: a phone rings and a pre-recorded conversation unfolds on screen, and from there it opens up into a live call with practitioners. Audience members text in their questions, which are put to the call in real time, and the night closes in the room as the contributors continue the discussion with the audience in person. This one brings together Edinburgh practitioners Peter Holmes, Lisa Simpson and Elma Charalampidou.
The venue is A&DS:SpACE, a pop-up for design and architecture run by Architecture and Design Scotland and Space for Architecture, Carbon & Environment, which hosts events and exhibitions across the built environment. You'll find it on Level 0 of the Edinburgh Futures Institute East Wing, next to Middle Meadow Walk, at 1 Lauriston Place, EH3 9EF.
