Live show by Ben Walker at Cabaret Voltaire on Blair Street in Edinburgh.
Ben Walker plays Cabaret Voltaire on Thursday 3 December, his only Edinburgh date this autumn. It's a solo show, so it's just him on stage — no backing band, no support act to work your way through first. The set is built around his own songs, and since he's the only name on the bill, he'll be taking up the whole night himself.
If you're not familiar, Walker is a singer-songwriter who works in the acoustic tradition, and this is a straightforward headline gig rather than a festival slot or a shared bill. The focus is on the songs and the voice, and with no other acts on the night, the set will be his to shape from start to finish. It's a good one to keep in mind if you're after a night of live music that doesn't involve a long wait for the main act to come on.

Cabaret Voltaire is at 36 Blair Street, right in the heart of the city, so it's easy enough to get to on foot or by bus. Doors open at 19:00, and since it's a Thursday night, it's a mid-week one rather than a weekend date. If you're planning to head in early, that's when the venue opens up; the music will follow on from there. Tickets are available through Live Nation, and the date is Thursday 3 December.
