Restorative session blending aerial yin yoga with a live sound bath, open to over-16s with no prior experience required.
Conscious Yoga are running an aerial sound bath and gentle yin yoga flow at The Crags Centre on Saturday 5 December, from 12:45 to 2:15pm. It's a ninety-minute session that puts two things together: aerial yin yoga and a live sound bath. If you've never come across either, the aerial part means you're using a hammock to support your body, and the sound bath is a live session of sound played around you while you lie or sit.
The session starts with a slow, grounding yin flow. You'll be in the aerial hammock, which takes some of the weight and lets you hold stretches for longer than you'd manage on a mat. Throughout that first half, there's live sound playing to help settle the nervous system. As the movement fades, the session shifts into a full aerial sound bath: you'll spend the rest of the time cocooned in the silks, resting deeply while the sound continues around you.
It's open to anyone over 16 and suits a standard range of movement, so you don't need any previous experience with aerial yoga or sound baths to join in. Conscious Yoga describe it as a gently restorative, nourishing experience designed to help you unwind, reset and leave feeling grounded and restored.
