A comic and poignant tale of morality and misunderstanding that offers a fresh contemporary take on the vampire myth, by John Maley.
A Play, A Pie and A Pint are back at Assembly Roxy in Edinburgh Old Town from 25 to 29 November, and the show they're bringing is Making Way, written by John Maley. It's a comic and poignant tale of morality and misunderstanding that offers a fresh contemporary take on the vampire myth, so if you're into the supernatural but prefer it with a bit of a wink and a heart, this should hit the spot.
Making Way didn't start here; it was produced by A Play, A Pie and A Pint at Γran MΓ³r in Glasgow, co-presented with Northern Stage and Assembly Theatre, and directed by Lesley Hart. It's part of the company's return to Assembly Roxy, where it's billed alongside three other 2026 offerings: Off The Rails, Zamboni and Dead Husbands Club. If you've got a few nights free that week, you could potentially catch more than one of them.

For those who haven't come across the company before, the name tells you exactly what you're getting: a play, a pie, and a pint, all in one go. It's a casual way to do theatre, and Making Way fits right into that. The run is 25 to 29 November at Assembly Roxy in the Old Town, so it's easy to get to if you're already in the centre.
