Concert by singer-songwriter Megan Burtt, joined by Jackson Emmer and Martin Gilmore, performing Nashville-style folk, indie, bluegrass and country music.
Megan Burtt plays the Tuft Theatre at Swallow Hill on Thursday, October 15, sharing the stage with Jackson Emmer and Martin Gilmore. The three of them are billed as Nashville-style songwriters playing in the round, which means they'll be sharing the stage together rather than taking separate sets. They'll each play original songs and tell the stories behind them, with the music pulling from folk, indie, bluegrass, and country.
Burtt is a Colorado-based singer-songwriter and a winner of the Kerrville NewFolk Competition, and she's been a favorite in the NPR Tiny Desk contest. Her work has drawn praise from KRFC, Guitar World, and Paste.
Jackson Emmer's songs have been recorded by Tom Paxton, Tim O'Brien, and Brittany Ann Tranbaugh, and his music has appeared in Rolling Stone, Billboard, and the Bluegrass Situation. He's a teaching fellow for Acoustic Guitar Magazine and is currently working on his sixth solo record.
