Folk duo Ordinary Elephant perform live at the Tuft Theatre at Swallow Hill Music in Denver.
Ordinary Elephant play the Tuft Theatre at Swallow Hill on Thursday, October 29. It's a married folk duo—husband and wife Crystal and Pete Damore—and they've been touring for more than a decade.
They've picked up some recognition along the way. In 2017, they won the International Folk Music Award for Artist of the Year on the strength of Before I Go. Two years later, they released Honest, which the Associated Press called one of the best Americana albums of the year. More recently, they've earned consecutive International Folk Music Award nominations for their self-titled release: Album of the Year in 2024 and Artist of the Year in 2025.
Their sound is built around banjo, guitar, and octave mandolin, and they've earned praise from folk artists like Tom Paxton and Mary Gauthier. With just the two of them on stage, the set is a direct look at the songs and the instruments they use to carry them.
