Thee Sinseers perform their R&B and soul album Love Stories, with special guests The Charities, at the historic Kessler Theater.
Thee Sinseers bring their Love Stories tour to The Kessler Theater on Saturday, October 31, with The Charities opening. The headliners are fronted by bandleader Joey Quiñones, a son of East Los Angeles, and they've been working their own take on R&B and soul since they formed in 2019. The set is built around their new Colemine Records release, Love Stories.
On the record, the band leaned into earthier instrumentation, using standup bass and guitars run through amplifiers for a warmer, sixties-adjacent tone. Quiñones describes that cross-genre thinking as the record's defining quality, and the songs follow the highs and lows of romantic relationships while expanding the frame to include the familial, the complicated, and the unresolved. The Charities open the night.
The Kessler Theater, at 1230 W. Davis St., is a historic room that opened in 1942 and was once owned by Gene Autry. The show is listed as sold out, with a waitlist available via Tixel.
