Concert by the American country and bluegrass duo Secret Sisters at The Kessler Theater in Dallas.
Secret Sisters play The Kessler Theater on Friday, December 11, at 8 PM. The duo is Laura and Lydia Rogers, sisters from Happy Valley, Alabama, raised near the historic music scene of Muscle Shoals. Their sound pulls from American styles like country, bluegrass and gospel, alongside classic rock and pop, and they cite influences ranging from George Jones and Loretta Lynn to The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, The Ramones, Fiona Apple and Rufus Wainwright.
Their first two albums were produced by T Bone Burnett, and for their third studio effort they turned to their hero, Brandi Carlile, who produced it with Tim and Phil Hanseroth. The sisters record live, valuing the honesty of capturing a band's ability to glue itself together.
