The SteelDrivers, a bluegrass soul band, perform live in concert with special guest Valley Flower at The Kessler Theater.
The SteelDrivers are playing The Kessler Theater on Friday, October 9, with Valley Flower opening. The SteelDrivers are a bluegrass band out of Nashville, Tennessee, and they've been on the road since long before this date—they tour an average of 75 dates a year.
Their sound keeps a strong traditional bluegrass streak, but they pull in blues, soul, and rock to give it a different flavor. That mix earned them the 2015 Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album for The Muscle Shoals Recording. In 2021, they added lead singer Matt Dame to the front, and the quintet has been touring as a five-piece ever since.
The current lineup puts Brent Truitt on mandolin, Tammy Rogers on fiddle and vocals, Mike Fleming on bass and vocals, and Richard Bailey on banjo, with Dame on lead vocals. It's a full bluegrass ensemble on stage, so you'll hear the mandolin, fiddle, bass, and banjo all working together.
