Acoustic song swap concert with Rhett Miller and friends trading songs in an informal setting, benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Rhett Miller is playing the Granada Theater on Sunday, November 1, for the Breathe Easy Concert. It's an acoustic song swap, which is a pretty straightforward way of saying that Miller and his guests will be trading songs in an informal setting rather than each playing a separate set. The night is presented by Swingle Collins & Associates and RT Specialty, and it benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Joining Miller on the bill are Joshua Ray Walker, Jamie Lin Wilson, and The O's. With the song-swap format, the focus is on the songs themselves and the artists taking turns on them, so you'll hear these four working across each other's material throughout the night. It's an all-ages show, so it works if you're bringing the kids along.
The Granada is marking the occasion with a brand-new, state-of-the-art sound system that replaces the original 2004 rig. The venue says the new setup is twice as powerful as the old one and adds speaker fills along the front of the room, which should help the sound carry more evenly across the floor. The theater has been under the same ownership for 20 years, so this is a significant update to the house rig.
