The Temptations perform their Christmas favourites with special guest Tonya Baker, benefitting The Stewpot and Bonton Farms.
The Temptations play the Winspear Opera House on Tuesday, December 15, as part of the Soulful Christmas concert series. They'll be joined by gospel psalmist Tonya Baker, and the night is a benefit for The Stewpot and Bonton Farms, two North Texas organizations working with local individuals and families.
If you're not already familiar, The Temptations have defined the Motown sound for more than six decades. Led by founding member Otis Williams, they've put up 42 Top Ten hits, 14 number ones, and five Grammy Awards, with a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. You know the classics—'My Girl', 'Just My Imagination', 'Papa Was a Rollin' Stone'—and they've got a handful of Christmas favorites of their own, including 'Silent Night', 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer', 'The Little Drummer Boy', and 'Someday at Christmas'.
The show is part of Soulful Christmas, a holiday concert series now in its 18th year. It's led by the Maiden Foundation, which supports The Stewpot and Bonton Farms, so the night does more than just bring the music to the stage. The Temptations will be sharing the bill with Tonya Baker, a gospel psalmist who'll be performing alongside them.
