Concert featuring Finnish melodic death metal heavyweights Insomnium and Amorphis on their North American co-headline tour, with support from Hinayana.
Insomnium play the Granada Theater on Wednesday, December 9, as part of a North American co-headline tour with fellow Finnish veterans Amorphis. The two share the bill as equals, with Hinayana opening the night. It's an all-ages show.
Insomnium are Finnish melodic death metal heavyweights, founded in 1997 in the Karelian city of Joensuu and fronted by Niilo Sevänen. They first gained recognition in 2002 with their debut, In the Halls of Awakening, followed by Above the Weeping World in 2006, One for Sorrow in 2012, and the Argent Moon EP in 2021. Their ninth album, Anno 1696, is set against the witch trials of 17th-century Northern Europe and came with a short story written by Sevänen; it was mixed by Jaime Gomez Arellano and mastered by Tony Lindgren.
On this tour, both Insomnium and Amorphis will play material from their latest albums—Netherworlds and Borderland—alongside their biggest ever-greens. The Dallas date is one stop on an extensive North American run, so you'll hear the new stuff and the older records in the same set.
