Concert by Americana artist Ray Wylie Hubbard at the Granada Theater in Dallas, with Charlie Shafter.
Ray Wylie Hubbard plays the Granada Theater on Friday, October 30, with Charlie Shafter joining him on stage. Hubbard is an Austin-based Americana artist and songwriter, and this is an all-ages show, so it's one you can bring the kids to if you're into that.
He's been at this a long time. He points to 1975's Cowboy Twinkies as an early record, and later ones like Snake Farm, Growl, Eternal, and Lowdown. Then there's the 2010 A. Enlightenment, B. Endarkenment (Hint: There is no C.). He describes each record as a struggle that keeps him from settling, and says the opening track of The Grifter's Hymnal, "Coricidin Bottle," tells everything you need to know about him in just under two minutes. He also wrote the autobiography A Life...Well, Lived.
