Concert by New York-based musician Margaret Glaspy, featuring special guest Olive Klug, at The Kessler Theater.
Margaret Glaspy plays The Kessler Theater on Saturday, November 21, with Olive Klug opening. Glaspy is a New York-based musician, and this is her third full-length record, Echo The Diamond, which she produced with co-production from her partner Julian Lage. She recorded it with drummer David King of The Bad Plus and bassist Chris Morrissey. The album followed her 2016 release Emotions and Math.
Her discography also includes the album Michigan and the EP The Sun Doesn't Think. Michigan grew out of her time in that state and the way New Yorkers sometimes imagine the countryside as a retreat from the city; the song itself became a story about someone going through a bad breakup and deciding to leave the city behind. She's toured with Spoon and Wilco.
