Weekly Wednesday night of interactive music trivia played on your phone, in the style of 'Name That Tune', at the Columbus Brewing Company Beer Hall.
What The Funk: Music Trivia is at the Columbus Brewing Company Beer Hall this Wednesday, October 29, from 7 PM to 10 PM. It's a fast-paced, interactive music-trivia game played from your phone in a 'Name That Tune' style: twelve music categories and more than 60 songs per game, spanning decades and genres, with players climbing a leaderboard to be crowned the night's champion.
If you've never played, the setup is straightforward. You use your phone to answer, so you aren't scribbling on a piece of paper and passing it up to a host. The categories keep things moving, and with over 60 songs in a single game, it's less about knowing one specific era and more about how many different corners of your music library you can pull from. The leaderboard updates as you go, so you know exactly where you stand against the rest of the room.
The game takes place in the Columbus Brewing Company Beer Hall, an expansive room in a historic Franklin Park landmark built in the late 1800s. It once served as a mechanic's shop for the trolleys that ran down Broad Street and across the city, and that history still hangs around the place. These days, the hall pours 24 draft beers and serves globally inspired food, with a private event space for when you need something separate from the main floor. There's also Happy Hour Monday through Thursday from 3 PM to 5 PM, so if you want to get a head start on the evening, you can.
