Trick or Treat Scavenger Hunt

IKEA Columbus is hosting a Trick or Treat Scavenger Hunt on Wednesday, October 21, from 5 PM to 7 PM. It's a costumed event, so you'll want to have your outfit ready before you head out. The whole thing is built around a scavenger hunt through the store, and the reward for finishing is sweet treats for the participants.

If you've ever spent a Saturday afternoon wandering the aisles at IKEA, you know how easy it is to lose track of time. This turns that into the actual point: you'll be moving through the showroom in costume, following the hunt's clues rather than just browsing. It's a family-friendly way to get into the Halloween spirit a few days before the actual holiday, and since it's a scavenger hunt, it keeps you moving through the store instead of just standing in one spot.

It's a mid-week event, so it's something to do on a Wednesday evening rather than a weekend. The two-hour window from 5 PM to 7 PM gives you plenty of time to work your way through the hunt without feeling rushed, and since it's a costumed affair, it's as much about the dress-up as it is about the treats at the end. If you're planning to go, keep in mind that costumes are part of the experience, so it's a good excuse to pull out whatever you've got ready for October.

Admission is free, but you do need to register in advance to get in. The hunt runs from 5 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday, October 21, at IKEA Columbus, 1900 IKEA Way, Columbus, OH 43240.
