Holiday gift exchange where strangers meet at the brewery to swap wrapped gifts valued at $15 or less, part of the brewery's Tracksuit Santa festivities.
Columbus Brewing Company is hosting Stranger Secret Santa at its Beer Hall on Friday, November 13, from 6 PM to 8 PM. The premise is as straightforward as it sounds: you show up as a stranger, bring a wrapped gift valued at $15 or less, and swap it with someone new. You leave with a little holiday cheer and a gift you didn't pick out yourself.
The night is part of the brewery's holiday festivities, which they've dubbed Tracksuit Santa—the season when Santa swaps his red suit for a tracksuit. If you're into the whole thing, this is one of several dates they've got lined up around the Beer Hall. The Tracksuit Santa Opening Day Party kicks things off on Thursday, November 5, and Drinks-giving follows on Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday, November 25. Stranger Secret Santa sits right in the middle of that run.
It's a low-stakes way to get into the holiday spirit without spending a fortune. The $15 limit keeps it simple, so you don't have to overthink what to bring—just something wrapped and ready to go. Since you're swapping with people you don't know, the whole point is the surprise of what you end up with.
