Librarians from Local History and Genealogy lead adults through spooky legends and hauntings from Columbus's past.
Spooky Columbus is coming to the Linden Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library on Monday, October 26, from 6 PM to 7 PM. It's a session led by librarians from the Local History and Genealogy department, and it's aimed at adults.
The whole thing is part of the Local History and Genealogy programming at the Linden Branch. The librarians will walk you through old graveyards, potential hauntings, and other creepy stories from the city's past, all with the goal of uncovering some of Columbus's spookier legends. If you've ever wondered what's buried beneath the streets or which old buildings have a reputation for being haunted, this is where those stories come together. It's less about the jump scares and more about the actual history that lingers in the city's corners.
Since it's run by the Local History and Genealogy team, you're getting the stories from people who spend their days in the archives. They're the ones who know where to look for the old records and the forgotten accounts that don't always make it into the general history books. That's what gives the session its weight—it's rooted in the city's actual past rather than just urban legend.

It runs from 6 PM to 7 PM at the Linden Branch, 2223 Cleveland Ave., in Meeting Rooms 1 and 2. The session is for adults, so it's a good fit if you're looking for something to do on a Monday evening that leans more toward history than Halloween costumes.
