Lecture by garden designer Fergus Garrett, Head Gardener of Great Dixter, presented by the Little Garden Club of Columbus at Franklin Park.
Fergus Garrett is coming to Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens on Thursday, October 29, for a lecture presented by the Little Garden Club of Columbus. It's a one-night thing, and if you've spent any time looking at gardens on this side of the pond, you've probably come across his name.
Garrett is an internationally acclaimed garden designer and horticultural leader, currently the Head Gardener and Chief Executive of Great Dixter in East Sussex, England. That's the garden the New York Times ranked second on its list of 25 must-see gardens in the world. He's known for his design work, his commitment to biodiversity, and his leadership in horticultural education. He runs Great Dixter as a world-famous garden laboratory—a place where innovative ideas are tested, future gardeners are trained, and research advances sustainable gardening practices. If you're into the intersection of art and ecology, that's exactly where he spends his time.
The lecture is brought to Columbus by the Little Garden Club of Columbus, which was founded in 1961 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit with membership by invitation only. They've been an affiliate of The Garden Club of America since 1994, and they're putting this on in partnership with the Conservatory.
