Halloween-themed paint-and-sip session where guests paint a Headless Horseman-inspired image under blacklight with a DIY candle add-on.
Pinot's Palette in the Short North is leaning into the spooky season with Mocking Head, a painting session on Saturday, October 24, from 8:30 to 10:30 PM. The image is a Headless Horseman-inspired piece painted under blacklight, which the studio describes as equal parts creepy and cool. It's part of their 'Add a DIY Candle!' series, so if you're in the mood for a full Halloween project, you can add a homemade candle to the night for $25.
The room stays upbeat with music playing throughout, and the class is pitched as easy for first-time painters and experienced artists alike to find their inner artist. Every Pinot's Palette studio is owned and operated by local small-business owners, a model the company says empowers entrepreneurs and enriches communities with creative entertainment. This one is right in the Short North Arts District, so it's easy to make a whole evening of it.
As for the bar, they serve beer, wine, wine-based cocktails, and mocktails, along with Starving Artist cheese plates and snacks. You're welcome to bring your own food, but no outside beverages. A few practical things to keep in mind: guests under 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for any class starting after 5 PM, and you'll need a valid ID to purchase or consume alcohol.
